"Grown Up" survey to pass the time...

"Grown Up" survey to pass the time...

Current mood:blah

Any teenager can write a survey about their favorite class, or their secret crush, or how nice their car is that their parents paid for. This is the survey for the older crowd.

OLD PEOPLE SURVEY

To begin-- surely I'm not in the "older crowd" yet. The older myspace crowd, well... maybe.

1. Do you have a college degree?
Yes, a business degree from ECU.

2. What was the amount of your last electric bill?
All my bills are on draft so I never look at them. I probably should.

3. Do you have life insurance?
No, but my insurance guy tried to sell me some the other day. I was like... who's going to get the money-- my dog? And I don't really even have a dog.

4. How many hours per week do you work?
45 1/2 except for every third week, it's 42 1/2 as I get off Saturday!

5. What is the amount of your average monthly expense?
I would guess around $2000, but that's really a rough estimate.

6. What's your most expensive bill?
House payment.

7. What's your least expensive bill?
My second XM subscription-$6.95.

8. Favorite place to attend Happy Hour?
I don't really do "happy hour" except for this place we used to get "snackers" at work had a 50 cents drinks at 3:00 and we did that frequently.

9. How many miles is your commute to work each day (one way)?
Roughly 5 minutes depending on the idiot in front of me.

10. What time do you get up every morning for work?
7:30 to 7:45, depending on if I reach for that third snooze or not.

11. What is your definition of sleeping in late?
Oh, it's sad. I used to could sleep to noon on a lazy Saturday, but now I can't sleep past 9 without feeling all yucky.

12. Do you check your cholesterol on a yearly basis?
Okay, that's officially an older crowd question. Now I will get a public service announcement that checking one's cholesterol is not something only older people should do. You just watch.

13. How large was your first cellular phone?
Not too bad... it was a Nokia 5160 that everyone on earth has had at some point or another. That was like 1999, I guess.

14. Does your employer provide good health insurance?
Good? No. Any? No.

15. Do you have a need for a PDA at work?
Oh, Felicia... a PDA is a personal data assistant. I had to tell a 50 year old this the other day. Like a Palm or a Blackberry. Or, a hundred years ago, a Wizard. But, anyway, no I don't use one.

16. Did you use the internet to write a research paper?
Every time. I'm going to say this is another "older person" question.

17. Have you attended a HS reunion?
I have been to two "alumni banquets," which is like an all-years reunion. This is how you can tell if you went to a small school.

18. How many jobs have you held in your professional career?
Do I have a professional career? I'm not sure. Anyway, I've been full-time at my job for four years.

19. Have you ever been fired or laid off from a job?
No

20. What is your favorite drink?
Mt. Dew.

21. What is the most expensive bottle of wine that you have?
I only have some cooking wine in the fridge, so probably $2.

22. What is the most expensive dinner you have ever had?
I have probably ate a $90 meal twice (I didn't pay for either). One was very good (Jack Binion's Steakhouse), one was not so much (Micky Mantel's Steakhouse).

23. What do you usually spend on dinner when you go out?
$15

24. Married yet? If so the best part about it?
No and I keep being asked why by some and being told to never, never do it by others.

25. How many children do you have?
0

26. Have you been divorced?
No

27. How old were you when you stopped getting ID'd for Alcohol?
I don't buy alcohol on a regular basis, but I do still get ID'd for buying paint and whiteout at Walmart.

28. Favorite casino?
I have only been to one in recent years--The Horseshoe in Shreveport LA. It was nice though.

29. Are you happier now than you were in high school!
In some respects. I enjoyed high school though.

30. Did you ever have Hypercolor shirts?
I don't know what that is.

31. Do you remember when Michael Jackson was black and attracted to older people?
Not really.

32. Do you remember when MTV actually played music videos?
Well, they still play them, just not all the time. But, I can't remember when they did.

33. Have you had a will made?
No.

34. What music was in your cd / cassette player when you were 16?
I was all country, all the time then.

35. Favorite fancy / upscale restaurant?
If I had a chance to eat at Binion's again, I definately would. I guess I would say Charleston's here local, although that's not all that fancy.

36. How long has it been since you attended a kegger?
I have never attended a kegger--and I went to college!

37. Where were you when you found out about 9-11?
Just getting out of bed. I turned on the radio like usual and went into the bathroom. It didn't take long before I had the TV on and didn't leave it for a while.

38. How long has it been since you moved out of home?
8 years

39. The biggest challenge of leaving home!
Living in a 10 x 15 room with someone else (not to mention sharing a bathroom with four people).

40. The biggest benefit of leaving home?
Kind of the same benefit of living alone... doing what I want when I want without having to "get permission" or "discuss" it with someone else.
